about me

nature, my teacher

I’ve always looked for places in nature that speak to me - an oak tree asking to be climbed, a spot of filtered sun beside a creek inviting me to sit. Here, I let the spirit move through me. With devotion and practice, I’ve been given a way to connect to the healing energy field and accept what is offered. Cultivating this connection creates purpose in my life. Honoring it means doing good with it.

pain and resolution

Before this, I had to deviate quite a bit from my healing path. Apparently, I had to fight what I knew deep down was calling me. I’d often plow ahead with grim determination against the flow of life, ignoring the many signs placed before me. Chronic pain accompanied my struggle. I began to understand that unless I faced my truth, the difficulties would only accumulate. It was a protracted battle, but once I finally gave in, once I totally surrendered and devoted my life to it, the world opened up, as if it had been waiting with endless patience for me to finally accept my healing path. Now I’ve returned to a magical sense I had as a young child. The world broke me open; something beautiful emerged.

creating destiny

Once the healing energy connection became conscious, I decided I would finally become a massage therapist in order to connect with people in need of help. I had always been putting it off, yet always knew it was something I must do one day. Here’s one of many serendipitous stories pointing the way: when I was 22, visiting a storybook village in Germany, I was given a tour of one of those ancient half-timbered houses and shook hands with the homeowner, a remarkable woman who happened to be a massage professional. As our hands touched, we both looked at each other in amazement - we had the same hands! She told me I must do this work one day. I am thankful ‘one day’ finally came.

worldly inspiration

I love studying how the body works dynamically; how it is designed to move and how I might learn to help restore balance to this miracle we inhabit. This is my deep dive: hands going into the body with all senses alert, seeing through my hands. I am always learning where everything is and how it wants to move. I am indebted to my Ortho-Bionomy® teacher, Jim Berns, who showed me that I was already practicing Ortho even before I knew it. I study and practice the works of Thomas Myers for his anatomical brilliance. Jon Bernie is my long time spiritual teacher; Eckhart Tolle, my indispensable spiritual author. I bring their discoveries into my practice. My wish is to put it all to good use and help people with all my heart.

I attended San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork with my dear friend and healing colleague, Chloe Cotton. I sing her praises. Her generous spirit and her belief in me have given me more than words can express.

I am a devoted athlete and have a deep sense of what being an athlete means: exuberance, efficiency of motion, dance, devotion, grace, injuries, and acceptance. We can bring joy into this world through movement.

deep ground

I discovered I am a spiritual guide quite by accident, or more correctly, by grace. I found that I could be in the company of others and create a shared space for sacred energy. It has given me a powerful sense of divine purpose.

I have been honing this curious gift all my life, mostly unknowingly. As a teen, I found my niche as the trip-sitter for friends and strangers alike; I felt valued for something I already was. For some reason, I ground deeply when others become fearful or flighty, like a welcome beacon in the darkness. This is especially true in groups and it feels tribal. Groups have always asked me to lead when things get truly serious - but not before. I am the safe pathfinder in moments of extreme need.

wilderness/spiritual guide

I am a born guide, both in nature and in the spiritual realm. In such matters of wilderness, spirit, life, and death, I am completely trustworthy. I’ve returned people wandering in snowy mountains and muddy marshes to a safe path home. I’ve returned people on the verge of losing all hope to equanimity by connecting them with sacred space. It has been my destiny to save many lives by providing whatever the moment required.

Witnessing and playing a part in miracles is a deep honor.

gratitude

I thank my lucky stars to be with the most beautiful, playful, and supportive person I’ve ever met: my adorable wife, Cyncha. After more than 25 years, I appreciate her more every day. She gives me room to grow. She provides the feedback upon which my practice is based. My love, respect, and gratitude for her are without limit.

The angels that guided me here have my eternal gratitude!
